Hunter Education Hunter Education is a successful program ensuring safe, respectful and responsible hunters in the state of Nebraska. The program is mandated by the Nebraska Legislature, administered by the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission and taught by volunteer instructors. Proof of completion of this course is required for everyone born on or after January 1, 1977 who hunts any species of game, game animal or game bird in Nebraska. The course will again be offered in Minden with the dates being October 19th, 20th & 22nd from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at the Kearney County Fairgrounds. The final day will be October 24th at the Minden Gun Club beginning at 9:00 AM. Attendance is required on each day. There is no cost for this course, but pre-registration is required. This course is being sponsored by the South Central Chapter of Farm Safety 4 Just Kids, Kearney County Pheasants Forever and the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission.
